Xandros Desktop Home Edition 4.0 review

This thread discusses the Content article: Xandros Desktop Home Edition 4.0 review

You are right about the hiding of NDIS wrapper utility - I had looked for it when trying to set up Xandros 4.0, but could not find it. I finally resorted to Xandros support, who E-mailed me the procedure for getting to it.

In my experience with NDIS wrapper, I have found that in at least one case (a Broadcom chip on a new Compaq laptop), the current version of the Windows driver does not work with NDIS wrapper, but an earlier version does. If people can't get their card to work with NDIS wrapper, it might be useful to locate earlier versions of the Windows driver and try them.

Re:Xandros Desktop Home Edition 4.0 review

I got an email from a Xandros official the other day assuring me that the top decision-makers at the company have realized that it was a bad idea to hide NDISdrivermanager. In the next version, it is supposed to be as visible as it was in version 3.
