I guess if I had a real network to maintain, I'd want one of these. You don't realize how much of a problem spam is until you have to deal with several machines downloading it all at once.
You could also make a firewall machine with SpamAssassin on it, but SA is getting less and less reliable as time goes on and spammers find creative ways to get their crap past the filter. I'm constantly training SA on Evolution. Every day I add lots of spam to the list, and although it catches most of it, the battle will never end.
